As an educator, I am engaged with and devoted to growth in teaching, discovering and implementing innovative strategies and technology into my work with students and colleagues, and mindful of the creative curation process that education and learning provide. I utilize my mind and heart for excellence, innovation, and creativity in my leadership and cross-disciplinary roles within higher education, in graduate student mentorship, and in the care for my students and colleagues. My clinical practice of many years was a one-woman show that I grew into a busy integrative medical clinic serving nearly 10,000 patients, housing 18 providers and staff, and serving as a residency and pediatric clinic training site. As a naturopathic pediatric & family physician I provide comprehensive and integrative well-woman, perinatal, well-child, and family care. I enjoyed what felt like the "town doctor" life, working with people and families on their general wellness, preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, pediatric care, and beyond. And now in solo practice, I aim to provide that same individualized, connected care that I have brought to my families (and students) for so many years. I began my professional working life over close to 30 years ago in the legal profession, then shifted and worked for several years in a residential program in Boston, MA for pregnant and parenting teenage women. This role also provided my first experiences and challenges as a leader and "boss." I can honestly say that those women, their children, and my mentors taught me more about myself, parenting, and our broken health care system than I may have ever learned. They have been and continue to be some of my best teachers, and continue to fuel my drive for improving healthcare delivery.
