I am a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. I'm also a principal investigator in the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research at Seattle Children's Research Institute. My work centers around the field of developmental oncology studying the epigenetic regulation of central nervous system development in the post-natal mammalian brain. My lab studies how these epigenetic mechanisms become deregulated and contribute to the formation of pediatric brain tumors, such as medulloblastoma and diffuse midline glioma. Finally, we identify novel targets and design and test therapeutic interventions for childhood cancer patients.
