Bryce Phillips turned a dorm-room idea into evo, an outdoor and action sports retailer he built from the ground up into a company with nearly 200 employees and close to $50 million in annual revenue — proof that a passion project can become a real business. Before going all-in on evo, he spent 16 years as a sponsored professional skier, funding his career by flipping houses and reselling gear, figuring things out as he went. Today he also co-owns a commercial real estate firm and is developing a mixed-use mountain community near Snoqualmie Pass — showing students that a career built around what you love can open doors you never expected.
